Pieces Planter
Pieces Planter applies the honest, tactile and elemental materials of architectural spaces to the objects that fill those spaces, through the typology of the pot plant. Indoor plants are fundamental in the making of healthy home spaces, yet the humble plant vessel does not digress too far from the norm; ceramic, plastic, even glass or painted steel, but certainly round.
Eschewing this predilection, Pieces Planter instead draws on notions of an elemental existence, formed by rocks, minerals and precious metals. The simple terrazzo slabs, stacked together in perfect geometry protect the foundation of the plant and allow the foliage to allude its grasp, while imparting glimpses of a glistening brass undercroft, exposed in excavation of the primeval strata.
